A fire broke out at a closed jute mill at AK Khan area of Chattogram city on Friday afternoon.
Deputy assistant director of Chattogram Fire Service and Civil Defence M Jasim Uddin said the fire originated at Victoria Jute Mills, which was earlier shut down, around 5:30pm, reports UNB.
On information, six-fire fighting units with 13 vehicles rushed in to douse the flame, he said.
Sources said importers have been using a number of warehouses of the closed jute mill for storing their goods after being imported through the Chittagong port.
