CID rescues two missing Faridpur children from Dhaka

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has rescued two minor siblings from Bhatara area in the city after a 48-hour long drive.

Mahia Akter Pinki, 12, and Biplob Bepari, 10, used to live with their aunt in Faridpur under Kotwali thana as their mother works in Jordan.

CID’s DIG Abdullahel Baki said the two siblings left their residence after their aunt scolded them for breaking a water glass on September 21, reports UNB.

Pinki and Biplob were going to their grandfather’s house but lost their way and ended up in Dhaka.

Their aunt Saleha Begum filed a complaint with the Kotwali police in Faridpur after the children went missing.

The children forgot the way to their grandfather’s house and ended up in Dhaka. For the last several days they were living on the streets.

The children also tried to call their father but failed to reach him.

A rickshaw puller saw the children crying on the road in Gulshan area and took them to his house.

The rickshaw puller also made a call to the father of the children but switched off his phone later.

CID members rescued the children after tracking the phone call of the rickshaw puller.

None was arrested in this connection.
