The High Court (HC) on Sunday granted ad-interim bail to Evan Shahriar Sohag, a choreographer in a human trafficking case which was lodged on charges of being involved in trafficking women to Dubai.
The HC joint- bench comprising of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order after hearing a bail application sought by Evan in the human trafficking case.
Confirming the matter, Deputy Attorney General Amit Dashgupta told the Financial Express that the HC bench also served a rule asking the state to explain within four weeks why Evan should not be given permanent bail in the case.
On September 13, a Dhaka court rejected the bail petition filed by the choreographer Evan Shahriar Sohag, who was arrested in a case filed by Lalbagh Police Station on September 10, 2020.
On July 02, 2020, the human trafficking case was filed with Lalbagh Police Station.
