Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique reached Turkey on Saturday to join the ceremony for the 60th anniversary of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Turkey and he will stay there till April 29.
The anniversary programme will be held from April 25 to 28 in Ankara in Turkey.
President of the Constitutional Court of Turkey Prof Dr Zühtü Arslan invited the chief justice of Bangladesh to join the programme, said a press release issued on Sunday by Md Badrul Alam Bhuiyan, Registrar of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court.
Following the Article 97 of the Constitution, President Md Abdul Hamid has given the responsibility of acting as the Chief Justice to Justice Md Nuruzzaman, a senior judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court, in absence of Chief Justice Hasan Foez Siddique, also read the press release.
