Ignoring corona virus infection, winter clothes trading is going on in full swing in Bogura district as a cold wave is sweeping the area.

A good number of people are coming to both new markets and hawker markers every day to purchase the clothes to soothe a bone-chilling cold. Though infection of covid-19 is increasing with the advent of the winter season across the world, the customers don't bother about it.

While visiting Shapla supermarkets, New Market, Runner Plaza, Sharif Uddin supermarkets, AlhajNurul Islam market, Samsuddin market, and hawker market in the district this correspondent found seasonal winter clothes traders are happy with their sale.

A crowd of old men, young and women are found buying winter clothes as winter is more severe in the region and the sale of winter clothes has been started since the beginning of December.

An old cloth trader at Hawker market ShahidulIslam said they are happy that winter has come because they are expecting good profit by increasing the sales this winter by recouping the losses of the last few months.

However, they are concerned about the spread of coronavirus infection in winter. If the infection increases, the number of people coming to the town will decrease, so they are seeing the risk of loss again.

The proprietor of Rabby cloth store in New marketMdRanjurul Islam said the shop had been closed for two months since March due to the coronavirus. Although the shop was kept open on Eid, the sale was not like the previous year.

Talking to some buyers who came to the market, it is known that even though they did not buy winter clothes as it was already cold, they are now buying winter clothes for themselves and their family members.

President of the chamber of commerce Md Masudur Rahman said, "We have told the shop keepers of both new market and old market to maintain social distancing during trading."
