BUET IPE department head removed over question leak

BUET has removed Professor Dr. Nikhil Ranjan Dhar as the head of the Department of Industrial and Production Engineering (IPE) amid allegations he was involved in the recent leak of question papers of bank recruitment tests.

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) has also relieved him of all his exam responsibilities in the country’s premier institution, its Vice-Chancellor Satya Prasad Mazumdar said.

“We have removed the teacher from all his university responsibilities after receiving a request from him,” said the VC.

He said a five-member probe committee has been formed to investigate the allegations against Nikhil and it was directed to submit its report within five working days, reports UNB.

“Final decision is this regard will be taken after receiving the report,” said

The report will be presented at the BUET academic or syndicate committee meeting for making a decision about the teacher, said Professor Mizanur Rahman, director of student welfare.
