Budget session prorogued

With passing 7 bills out of the total 15 in 24 working days, the budget session of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (parliament) was prorogued on Sunday.


Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury read out the prorogation order of the President of the 16th session.


The session began on May 30, 2017, and on June 1, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith placed the national budget of Tk 4.0266 trillion (Tk 4 lakh 266 crore) for the fiscal year 2017-2018 in the House.


Prior to reading out the prorogation order, the Speaker urged all lawmakers belonging to both treasury and opposition benches and independent ones to play a constructive role in making the parliament more effective to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of people.
