The Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has suddenly ordered the shutdown of the bdnews24.com website.
The order was sent from the BTRC to mobile phone and IIG operators.
“As decided by the Commission, you are directed to block the following Domains at your IG immediately https://www.bdnews24.com/, https://m.bdnews24.com/,” BTRC said in a notice.
The order was sent via email by BTRC’s Systems & Services Division Senior Assistant Director Touseef Shahriar.
No reason was given for the order, says a report on the website.
The BTRC has not made any comment regarding the situation. The government has not issued a statement either.
