Nurses at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) have called off their strike after the authorities assured them of looking into the alleged assault of a nurse by hospital staff.
They withdrew the protests at around 11:30 am, Abul Hasan, officer-in-charge at Shahbagh Police Station, told the FE on Thursday.
A day after one of them was allegedly assaulted by hospital staff on Wednesday night, the nurses, soon after joining work the next day, took to demonstrations in protest against the untoward incident.
