The mobile courts of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) collected nearly Tk 20.558 million in fine against errant vehicles and drivers for violating traffic rules from September to November 2018.
Moreover, the courts filed 10,677 cases during the drives against traffic rule violators in the abovementioned period, according to the data of the transport regulator.
The mobile courts also handed down different jail terms to 115 traffic rule violators and dumped 61 vehicles in 638 drives in the same period of time, the BRTA data showed.
A total of 37,242 cases were lodged, 866 people were given different jail terms and 843 vehicles were dumped in FY 2016 to 17.
