BNP's Zahidur Rahman Zahid, the MP-elect for Thakurgaon-3, has taken oath amid tough warnings from the party high-ups.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at a ceremony at 12 noon on Thursday, local media reports say.
The BNP has its six candidates won in the last general elections held on December 30, 2018.
According to the party decision, none of their six MP-elects are to take oath to join the current parliament.
Disobeying the decision, Zahid took the oath as the MP of Thakurgaon-3, which took place five days before the deadline to join the parliament by an MP-elect expires on April 30.
