Police have got locked into a clash with BNP activists at the Kakrail intersection in Dhaka city on Thursday.
The clash took place as a motorcade carrying the party’s Chairperson Khaleda Zia was heading to Bakshibazar court premises.
A few vehicles were torched during the clash.
Police fired tear gas shells to control the situation dispersing the BNP men, who were with the motorcade, also hurled brickbats at the law men, triggering a chaotic situation there for a while.
Khaleda’s motorcade reached the makeshift trial court premises at Bakshibazar at about 1:40pm.
