A section of casual workers of Biman Bangladesh Airlines went on work abstention and staged demonstrations at Shahjalal International Airport on Sunday morning demanding regularisation of their jobs, hampering the ground handling activities of the airport.
ASP (Media) of Airport Armed Police Tariqul Islam said the workers laid siege to the Biman headquarters Balaka Bhaban around 10: 30 am.
However, flight operations at the airport remained undisrupted, UNB reported quoting the official.
Biman is responsible for ground handling operations at the airport.
