Bangladesh Biman’s direct flight to Chattogram – Madina was inaugurated at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chattogram on Thursday.
State Minister for Civil Aviation & Tourism Mohammad Mahbub Ali inaugurated Chattogram-Madina route as chief guest.
Speaking at the inaugural function Mahbub Ali said government is working relentlessly to increase the Biman’s fleet by procuring more than one hundred aircrafts.
He warns against any sorts of irregularity and corruptions in the civil aviation department and none will be spared if found to be involved in any sort of with irregularities and corruptions.
The state minister also said the people of Chattogram are very pious, they have been going to go Makkah; Madina frequently for offering Ziarat, Omra Hajj and the direct flight to Madina will help to facilitate the devotees.
One flight on every Thursday will fly from Chattogram Airport, airport sources said.
The Minister further told that I have taken it as challenge to turn Biman profitable organization under the able leadership of the Prime Minister.
He disclosed that Prime Minster earnestly wants to turn the Saidpur Airport into a international airport and the civil aviation authority is working to meet with that target.
Mahbub Ali informed that the constructions of 3rd terminal of Shahjalal International Airport will begin from next month.
Chairman of Civil Aviation Authority Air vice Marshal Mohammad Mofidur Rahman was present as special guest at the inauguration ceremony.
Managing Director of Bangladesh Biman Mohammad Mokkabir Hossain informed there are 16 aircrafts in Biman’s fleet including 6 on hired basis.
Airport Manager of Civil Aviation Wing Commander Sarwar-e-Jahan and District Manger of Biman Nazmul Hasan were also present on the occasion, reports BSS.
