The three troopers of India’s Border Security Force (BSF), held for trespassing in Bangladesh, have been sent back.

Early on Monday, the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in Rajshahi’s Paba Upazila detained Sub Inspector Ramnath Singh, Constables Rakesh Kumar and Santosh Kumar.

They have been sent back around 1:00am after a BGB-BSF flag meeting, said Nayek Subedar Abu Taher, posted at the BGB border outpost.

The BSF troopers had claimed that they had accidently crossed the border during a patrol, bdnews24 reported, quoting local BGB Battalion Commander Shamim Masud Al Iftekhar.

“The flag meeting was convened to send them back,” he said.
