Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in a raid arrested a suspected smuggler along with seven gold bars worth Tk 3.50 million from a bus in Damurhuda upazila of Chuadanga district on Friday.
The arrestee was identified as Shaheen Hossain, 32, son of Amir Uddin of Mirzapur upazila in Tangail district, reports UNB.
On information, a team of BGB-6 intercepted a 'New Modern' bus on Chuadanga-Darshana road at the Kathaltala area around 6:30 am and arrested Shaheen along with the gold bars, BGB said.
The arrestee was handed over to police, Additional Director of BGB-6 Major Lutful Kabir confirmed.
