Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) today distributed winter clothes (blankets) among 500 destitute people in Netrokona’s municipality area.
BGB Director General Major General Shakil Ahmed distributed the clothes in the afternoon at Parla Government Primary School Playground in the district, reports BSS citing a press release.
BGB additional director (operation and training), sector commander of Mymensigh Sector, Netrakona Battalion captain and senior officers of the paramilitary force as well as civil dignitaries were present on the occasion.
The BGB Netrakona Battalion will distribute winter clothes among 2,500 destitute people gradually this year.
Earlier, the BGB DG inspected the Netrakona Battalion (BGB-31) office under the Mymensigh Sector as a part of visiting operational, training and administrative activities of the different units of BGB.
During the visit, Shakil took quarter guard salam, planted a sapling on the battalion premises, exchanged views with BGB members at all levels and gave directives regarding administrative, operational and training programmes.
