BGB detains 19 BD nationals from Kurigram border

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained 19 Bangladeshi nationals, including seven children and six women, from Dharmapur border in Phulbari upazila in Kurigram early Thursday while they were entering the country from Indian without valid documents.

All the detainees are hailing from different upazilas of the district.

Locals said that the detainees went to Haryana state in India several years ago through human traffickers in search of work and while they were returning home from India, a team of BGB detained them from international main pillar no 984, reports UNB.

Subedar Shahid Islam, company commander of Kashipur camp under Lalmonirhat 15-BGB battalion, said 12 of the detainees were handed over to police after filing a case.
