The number of confirmed coronavirus patients in Bangladesh surged to 210,510 on Tuesday as the country registered 3,057 fresh cases in the last 24 hours.
Besides, 41 more people died from Covid-19 during the period. Among the fatalities, 34 were male and the rest were female, the health directorate said.
With the latest, the death toll from the lethal disease now stands at 2,709.
Nasima Sultana, additional director general (admin) at the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), disclosed the information while briefing the media live on the daily Covid-19 bulletin.
The fresh coronavirus infections were found after testing a total of 12,898 samples across the country, she said.
Besides, the recovery count also jumped to 115,397 after 1,841 patients were recovered during the period under review.
Globally, 14,867,479 people have been infected by the novel coronavirus and 613,549 people died as of Tuesday noon, according to the worldometer.
Of them, 5,329,746 are currently being treated with 63,695 remain in serious or critical condition.
So far, 8,924,184 people have recovered.
