High Commission of Bangladesh in Nigeria has started Machine Readable Passport (MRP) and Machine Readable Visa (MRV) services in country’s capital Abuja.

Md Shameem Ahsan, Bangladesh High Commissioner to Nigeria, handed over the machine readable visas to two Nigerian nationals on Monday.

He also handed over digital enrolment papers for MRP to one expatriate Bangladesh national on Tuesday, said the High Commission on Friday.

Visiting members of the delegation from the Department of the Immigration and Passports (DIP), Dhaka, officers and officials of the HC and few members of the community, among others, were present.

This follows establishment of the High Commission in Nigeria in November 2016, said a media release.

Expatriate nationals as well as the foreign service-seekers appreciated the initiative of the high commission in line with the policy priority of the government for a 'Digital Bangladesh'.
