Investigation gains access as a five-member probe committee was formed to probe the derailment of an oil-laden train on Chattogram-Sylhet route at Shamarailkandi in Brahmanbaria on Saturday.
Shoyeb Ahmed, assistant stationmaster of Brahmanbaria Railway Station, said the probe committee has been asked to submit its report within three working days.
However, the train communications between Chattogram and Sylhet was kept operative using the down-line.
Earlier, on Saturday, the rail communications on Chattogram-Sylhet route snapped following the derailment of an oil-laden train at Shamarailkandi, reports UNB.
All the wheels of one of the nine tank wagons veered off the track when the locomotive reached there around 10:30 pm, said Md Kamrul Islam, stationmaster of Brahmanbaria Railway Station.
On information, two relief trains from Dhaka and Akhaura rushed there and conducted the salvage work to restore the rail link.
