BB seeks former Dhaka South mayor's bank account info

Bangladesh Bank (BB) has sought account information on Sayeed Khokon, former mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation, from all the scheduled banks, officials said.

Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) of the central bank has asked the banks to provide information within three working days.

Last month, a Dhaka court had ordered to freeze eight bank accounts of Mr. Khokon and three of his family members as part of investigation into allegation of 'amassing illegal wealth'.
