Bangladesh Bank (BB) has not released any currency note with printed photo of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, said a press release issued by the central bank.
BB issued the release after it noticed that some users of social media have posted a currency note of Tk 100 with PM’s photo on front side and Bangabandhu satellite’s photo on back side.
The bank clarified that it has not issued such currency note urging all not to be misguided by these social media posts.
It added the news is fabricated and baseless, and asked social media users not to spread the false stories.
BB also urged law enforcement agencies to take necessary actions against those who are involved in such propaganda on social media to misguide people.
