Azizul Talukder, 40, has been allegedly gunner down by a Saudi citizen

A Bangladeshi vegetables vendor has allegedly been shot and killed by a Saudi in Jeddah.

The deceased, Azizul Talukder, 40, hails from Raipura in Narsingdi. His two sons and a daughter live with their mother in Bangladesh.

His younger brother Masud Talukder said Azizul and he ran a vegetables shop at Tabida Sara in Abha, Khamis Mushayt.

Masud said a Saudi citizen came to their shop around 10 am on Friday and asked for some vegetables and fruits, and tried to leave the shop without paying.

“When my brother asked for money and stopped him from leaving, he got furious. He left the shop and returned a little while later and shot my brother five times with a pistol,” Masud said.

"My brother died on the spot," he added.

He said he with the help of locals caught the killer and handed him to the police.

Police have not released the name and details of the alleged murderer, reports bdnews24.

Labour Counsellor Aminul Haque at the Bangladesh Consulate General in Jeddah said that the body was kept at the mortuary of Sarat Abidah General Hospital in Abha.

He said the body would be sent back after some official formalities.
