Kishwar Chowdhury has so far done wonders with her reimagining of Bangladeshi dishes in an Australian style to win the hearts of the judges and the spectators at MasterChef Australia season 13.
A printing-business owner living in Melbourne, she is the first Australian-Bangladeshi to secure a place in the MasterChef finals, according to reports from Australia.
Many Bangladeshis at home and abroad are now showing interests in this cooking reality show with the hope of a Kishwar Chowdhury victory in the Finale.
After the latest Semi-finals Service Challenge, she has found her final day rivals – Justin Narayan and Pete Campbell who entered the final directly before the semi.
In the semifinals, Kishwar’s ‘Macher Jhol,’ ‘Hariyali Chicken’ and ‘Begun Bhorta’ with her recreation of ‘British Ruby Chicken’ composed a fine balance in her cooking.
Now, she will be competing with Pete Campbell and Justin Narayan, two of the best chefs of this edition of MasterChef, in the Finale on Monday and Tuesday night.
Justin Narayan, who hails from Western Australia, has proved himself to be a strong contender for the title. Justin’s Fijian and Indian heritage has always influenced him and his cooking. His ‘Indian Chicken Tacos,’ ‘Charcoal Chicken with Toum,’ ‘Flatbread and Pickle Salad, and Indian Chicken Curry – all show some unique skills and flavour profiles, according to announcements by authorities there.
Pete Campbell is reportedly a self-taught cook from New South Wales in Australia. Pete has proven to be a top contender in the last few weeks with his top-notch cooking techniques. His direct entry to the finale even before the semi-finals proves his mastery. Pete's ‘Carrot Steak’ with Béarnaise Emulsion, and Lamb and Turnip with Saltbush, and Roasted Lamb Sauce – all enchanted the judges.
Against two of the finest chefs of the competition, Kishwar will have to be superlative to win the culinary battle and secure the crown.
A mother of two, Kishwar Chowdhury is the daughter of Bangladeshi-origin businessman Quamrul Hossain Chowdhury and Laila Chowdhury living in Melbourne.
