Bangladesh to lodge protest with Myanmar over landing of mortal shells

After witnessing the landing of two mortal shells from Myanmar inside Bangladesh territory on Sunday afternoon, the government of Bangladesh has decided to lodge its strong protest with Myanmar.

“We usually protest amid such incidents. A few days ago we also received similar reports. We will again strongly protest it with them (Myanmar),” said Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen, reports UNB.

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) stepped up its vigilance along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border in the Bandarban area after two Myanmar mortar shells landed in an area near Tambru under Naikkhangchhari in Bandarban on Sunday afternoon.

Locals got panicked seeing the mortar shells which remained unexploded.
