Bangladesh receives 31 life support ambulances, medical equipment from India

India handed over 31 life support ambulances and other medical equipment to Bangladesh on Tuesday.

Foreign Minister Dr AKAbdul Momen received the donation at the State Guest House Padma from High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, Vikram Doraiswami.

While addressing the handing over ceremony, Dr Momen thanked India for the assistance and noted that India has always been a friend in need to Bangladesh.

He recalled the sacrifice and contribution India made during the Independence War of Bangladesh in 1971.

Mr Doraiswami, in his speech said that India has been engaged in fighting the Covid pandemic in alliance with its regional partners.

He highlighted his government’s policy to combat pandemic challenges through mutual cooperation and collaboration.

He thanked the Bangladesh government for the quick response of assistance during the pandemic emergency in India few months ago.
