Bangladesh jumps eight places in global cyber security index

Bangladesh has improved eight places from 73rd to 65th position in the global cyber security index.

In South Asia, the country ranks second with 44.16 points while India first with 59.74, shows the index compiled by the UK-based National Cyber Security Index (NCSI).

Tarique M Barkaullah, director at Bangladesh's Computer Emergency Response Team, also confirmed the rankings improvement in the NSCI index.

Such improvement indicates that Bangladesh has achieved better preparedness and skills against cyber threats, he observed.

Greece has been positioned first in the NSCI index with 96.1 points followed by the Czech Republic with 92.21 and Estonia with 90.91.

The UK-based NSCI assesses countries' preparedness for basic cyber-attacks and their efforts in managing cyber incidents, crime and major crises.
