Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence has introduced a new helpline number to provide all kinds of fire-related information, including emergency services.
The new number 022233-55555 for its central control room in Dhaka will come into effect at 11:00am from Sunday, said the officials.
The old helpline number will become obsolete once the new one comes into effect, said Shahjahan Sikder, officer in charge (media cell) at Bangladesh Fire Service and Civil Defence.
With this new 11-digit helpline number, a total of 10 subscribers will be able to make calls simultaneously, said Mr Sikder.
