Bangladesh Embassy in Japan opens hotline for earthquake victims

The Bangladesh Embassy in Japan has established contact with Bangladesh nationals living in the Hokkaido area hit by a 6.7 magnitude earthquake on Thursday.

No Bangladeshis were reported to be affected by the earthquake, the embassy said in a statement.

Aftershocks are continuing. The mission is closely monitoring the situation, according to the statement.

​The embassy has set up hotlines (+81-80-40656601 or +81-80-44561971) to gather and provide information related to the earthquake, said a bdnews24 report.

The Bangladeshis living in the affected areas are requested to take precautions and contact the embassy staff through the hotlines for any earthquake related information or assistance.
