Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury on Sunday said Bangladesh Digital Survey (BDS), to be launched soon in Patuakhali and Barguna, will be conducted in phases across the country.
The updated record obtained through BDS will replace the previous survey record, he said.
The minister was speaking at an inaugural function of the 123rd Survey and Settlement Training Course for police, forest and railway cadres of Bangladesh Civil Service Administration and Bangladesh Judicial Service Officers in Savar.
Md Muksodur Rahman Patwary, Secretary in Charge of the Ministry of Land, among others, was present at the function.
The minister further said the land ministry won the prestigious 'United Nations Public Service Award-2020' as a result of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s initiative to build a 'Digital Bangladesh'.
The work of 'Mouza and Plot-Based National Digital Land Zoning Project' will start soon to play a role in conserving the country's land resources by making proper use of scarce land resources, the minister points out.
