Bangladesh-Brunei official talks begin

Delegation-level official bilateral talks between Bangladesh and Brunei Darussalam began at the Prime Minister’s Office in Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leading the Bangladesh side at the talks, while visiting Brunei Darussalam Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah is leading his country’s delegation, according to BSS.

They are scheduled to talk about several issues of bilateral concern, including manpower recruitment from Bangladesh and cooperation in the energy and aviation sectors.

Before holding the bilateral meeting, the two leaders also held a tete-e-tete for some time.

Earlier, on his arrival on the Prime Minister’s Office premises, the Brunei Sultan was received by the Bangladesh Premier at the Tiger Gate with a flower bouquet.

Meanwhile, after the bilateral meeting, a number of documents including three agreements and an MoU are expected to be signed and exchanged between Bangladesh and Brunei Darussalam.

 Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Brunei Sultan will witness the signing ceremony at the PMO.
