Bangladesh is among the 73 countries which abstained from voting in the UN General Assembly on a resolution calling for Russia to be held accountable for invading Ukraine in violation of international law, including by making reparations for extensive harm done to the nation and for Ukrainians killed and injured in the conflict.
Though the resolution was approved on Monday, it was nearly the lowest level of support for any of the five resolutions about Ukraine that the General Assembly had passed since Russia invaded its smaller neighbour on 24 February.
There were 73 abstentions in the 193-member international organisation's 94-14 vote.
