The government has launched Bangabandhu Wage Earners' Center in Dhaka, aiming to provide temporary accommodation to the expatriate workers.

Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmed inaugurated the centre at Lanjanipara Barua in Khilkhet, near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, on Friday marking the birth anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, said a press release on Saturday.

It also has counselling, first aid, hospitalisation and free internet facilities.

To avail of the facilities of the centre, expatriates can apply directly or online with a fee of Tk 100.

A single worker can apply for one seat at a time and can stay for maximum of two nights.
