Badda woman lynching: Five accused put on three-day remand

A city court on Thursday put five accused on a three-day remand each in a case over lynching of Taslima Begum Renu in the city over child-lifting rumour.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Court Judge Tofazzol Hossain passed the order after investigation officer of the case and inspector of Badda Police Station Abdur Razzak sought a seven-day remand for interrogating them.

Police arrested Billal Hossain, 28, Asadul Islam, 22, Murad, 22, Sohel Rana, 30, and Razu Ahmed, 23, from different parts of the capital on Wednesday night.

So far, 13 people have been arrested in this connection, according to UNB.

A case was filed after Taslima Begum Renu was beaten to death on July 20 at North Badda over child abduction rumour.
