A baby girl, who sustained injuries after falling down from her mother's lap when a bus hit them in Kushtia district town on Tuesday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) early Thursday.
The deceased Afifa, one-year-old daughter of Harun-or-Rashid, succumbed to her injuries around 4:45am.
Afifa fell from her mother's lap when a bus of 'Gandharaj Paribahan' hit her mother Rina Akter from behind while crossing the road at Chourhash intersection in the district town on Tuesday, leaving them injured.
Later, they were taken to Kushtia General Hospital from where Afifa was referred to DMCH for better treatment, her father said.
The video footage of the incident went viral on Facebook, sparking an uproar among people.
Meanwhile, locals including students and journalists, on Wednesday formed a human chain at Chourhash Intersection demanding exemplary punishment of the driver, reports UNB.
