Awami League presidium member Jahangir Kabir Nanak has tested positive for coronavirus, his family sources say.

The fomer State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives tested positive for Covid-19 on Friday. He has now self-quarantined himself at his residence.

Nanak's personal assistant Masudur Rahman Biplob told the media that the former state minister was in good health despite being diagnosed with the coronavirus.

The AL leader and his family members, however, urged the countrymen to pray for his quick recovery, Biplob added.

Nanak was elected as Member of Parliament (MP) from the Dhaka-13 constituency twice in 2008 and 2014.
