Police arrested an assistant sub-inspector (ASI) with 4,000 yaba tablets in Cumilla’s Chandina Upazila on Tuesday night.
Nasir Uddin, an ASI of Rangamati Detective Branch of Police and a resident of the Upazila’s Dotala village, was accompanied by his accomplice Kawser.
Kawser is a resident of Sadar Dakshin Upazila’s Pratappur village. The duo were arrested on Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Upazila’s Katherpul on Tuesday night while they were passing through the area by motorbike, said Inspector Mohammad Ali Mahmud of Chandina Police Station.
Police found 4,000 yaba tablets after searching their bodies.
The ASI was taken to District Police Superintendent’s office for interrogation, reports bdnews24.com.
