Always remember historic March 7: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said hundreds of those gathered at the Suhrawardy Udyan today that she always lovingly remembers the day of March 7, 1971 where Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman delivered the historic speech.
“Standing here, I remember the historic day in 1971. I had the fortune of being here which was previously known as Race Course Maidan) on that day,” Sheikh Hasina said.

“We will have to remain alert so that anti-liberation forces like Razakar, Al Badr, war criminals, killers can not misinterpret the country’s history ,” Hasina added.

“The country' development is going ahead and it will continue. We will build up the country with the spirit of the Liberation War,” the premier said.

The government employees along with people from all walks of life, including school and college students joined the celebration programmes.

They have been taken to inform people, particularly the students and future generations, about the national and international significance of the Bangabandhu's March 7 speech.

Earlier, the government has taken decision to celebrate the recognition of Bangabandhu's historic March 7 speech as a world documentary heritage by Unesco through various programmes.

In the capital, the celebration started at noon through placing wreaths at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Dhanmondi Road-32.
