AL leader gets jail for exam fracas

A local Awami League leader has got a jail term of 10 days for attempting to intrude into a JSC examination centre in Kushtia.

Mirpur UNO and Mobile Court Judge SM Jamal Hossain handed down the penalty under the Public Examinations Law 1980 on Thursday.

Mirpur Upazila Awami League branch secretary Ruhul Alam Biswas has been sent to jail, said local police station’s Officer-in-Charge Rabiul Islam.

Earlier in the day, police detained him while trying to storm into the examination centre with a group riding on motorcycles while the test was ongoing.
