Two Bangladeshi adolescent boys have returned home after languishing in an Indian jail for one and a half years.
The juveniles, Surjo Protap and Anil Biswas, returned home through Darshana border of Jessore on Sunday.
Among them, Surjo Protap; 14; is the son of Suruj Halder, hailing from Bablatola village in Kolapara upazila of Patuakhali district.
The another, Anil Biswas is the son of Thakur Biswas, hailing from Sumartala village in Kalia upazila of Narail district. Sources did not confirm the exact age of Anil Biswas.
Following a flag meeting between border forces of India and Bangladesh, BSF handed them over to Border Guard Bangaldesh (BGB) on Sunday.
Later, they were handed over to local police.
Damurhuda Police Station officer-in-charge Akram Hossain said that they will hand the returnees over to their respective families.
Darshana Checkpost Immigration Police in-charge Abdul Halim, also a sub-inspector said Surjo and Anil were detained by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on July 6, 2016.
UNB says, the Indian force caught them after entering India without any valid documents through Benapole border point in search of jobs.
The arrestees were produced before a local court when the court ordered to keep them in a safe home.
