The government will take action against deputy inspector general (DIG) of police Mizanur Rahman after getting probe report.
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan came up with the statement on Thursday at Mirpur Police Staff College in the capital.
He said that the probe report against DIG Mizan has been submitted to Police headquarters.
"We will take action after getting the probe report with recommendation for punishment," said the home boss.
According to UNB, Mizan allegedly picked up one Morium Akter and forcefully married her.
Later following a family feud Mizanur instigated arrest of Morium over a false case.
The matter came into public following recent media reports on this incident.
Following the allegation, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Additional Commissioner, Mizanur Rahman was withdrawn from the DMP headquarters and attached to Police headquarters.
