Accidents of industrial units claimed 170 lives from July 16 to June 17: Report

At least 170 workers were killed in different types of accidents in industrial units across the country from July 2016 to June 2017, according to official data.

Apart from this, some 435 workers were injured in 410 incidents, revealed the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE).

Until December 2017, an estimate of Tk 17.54 million was given to the victims as compensation owing to order of different labour courts across the country, the report said.
