ACC summons 12 AB Bank high-ups for interrogation

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Monday summoned 12 members of the Board of Directors of AB Bank, including its former chairman Wahidul Haque, for interrogation over the alleged embezzlement of around Tk 3.84 billion ( Tk 384 crore).

A notice, signed by ACC Deputy Director Shamsul Alam, asked them to appear before the ACC on October 1, 2 and 3, ACC Assistant Director (Public Relations) Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.

He said former chairman of the bank M Wahidul Haque, director Mohammad Firoz Ahmed and former directors MA Awal and Professor Dr M Imtiaz Hossain will face interrogation on October 1 while directors Shishir Ranjan Bose and Syed Afzal Hasan Uddin, and former directors Mishal Kabir and Fahimul Haque will undergo grilling on October 2 and former directors Mejbahul Haque, Anwar Jamil Siddiqui, Bibi Saha Roy and Zakia Shahrukh Khan on October 03, reports UNB.

Earlier on June 28, 2017, ACC Deputy Director Shamsul Alam filed a case with Banani Police Station against 16 people, including former Foreign Minister M Morshed Khan, over the misappropriation of money.
