The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) visited the Sadarghat Launch Terminal for the second time on Sunday to check irregularities in selling launch tickets.
After receiving an allegation of irregularities in selling tickets over ACC hotline 106, the anti-graft watchdog sent a seven-member enforcement team, headed by ACC assistant director Raiful Islam, to Sadarghat Launch Terminal.
“It is a part of the regular drive to ensure corruption-free passenger services in the naval routes,” ACC Director General (admin) Mohammad Munir Chowdhury said.
Earlier on June 5, a 10-member team of ACC visited Sadarghat launch terminal to monitor operation of water vessels to ensure safe journey for Eid holidaymakers on water routes.
The team asked the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority to take necessary measures to stop plying of unfit, risky and illegal vessels and put a check on charging of extra fares from passengers, reports BSS.
