Academics believe Bangabandhu’s killing was a deep-rooted conspiracy

Academicians at a discussion here have said assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was a deep-rooted conspiracy to destroy independence and reverse spirit of the Warof Liberation.

They made the observation at the discussion on ‘Bangabandhu in Heart’ arranged during the ‘Bangabandhu Rhyme and Poetry Competition’ organised by Abhijatrik Sahitya Sangskriti Sangsad, Rangpur (ASSSR) at its office on Friday night.

ASSSR, a literary and cultural organisation, arranged the events in observance of the National Mourning Day-2018 and 43rd martyrdom anniversary of the Architect of Independence and Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Former treasurer of Begum Rokeya University Professor Md Mozammel Haque attended the function as chief guest with president of ASSSR Advocate MA Basher Tipu in the chair.

Provost of Sheikh Fazilatunnessa Mujib Hall of Begum Rokeya University Professor Dr Sharifa Salowa Dina addressed the function as special guest.

Moderated by general secretary of ASSSR Sayeed Sahedul Islam, its members Zahid Hossain and Rezaul Karim Jiban among others addressed the function.

Poets Kamruzzaman Dishari, Salma Setara, Matiar Rahman, Raihan Ahmed Rimon, Shaju Ahmed, Iqbal Hasan and Falze Rabbi recited their self-composed rhymes and poetries on Bangabandhu.

Advocate Tipu narrated the life and works of Bangabandhu saying that the present and future generations should know the philosophy, ideal, dedication and sacrifice of the selfless patriot and unparalleled friend of the country and its people.

Professor Dina said, “Bangabandhu properly spent every moment of his life for serving the purpose of the people and it is need of the time to work unitedly in the spirit of the War of Liberation to realise his dream of building a developed ‘Sonar Bangla’.”

Professor Haque said the defeated anti-liberation forces and killers of Bangabandhu were still hatching conspiracy to turn Bangladesh into a failed state through destabilising the country by conducting terrorist and militant activities.
