902 new dengue patients hospitalised in 24 hours

A total of 902 new dengue patients were hospitalised across the country in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning.

Data released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) in the afternoon showed 4,254 people currently being treated for dengue – 2,340 of them in Dhaka.

The number of dengue cases was 760 on Saturday while 1,025 on the day before. It was 1,189 on Thursday, 1,157 on Wednesday, and 1,299 on Tuesday.

The government said 71,097 patients have been hospitalised since January 1. Of them, 66,658 were discharged after recovery, reports UNB.

Since January, the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) received complaints of 185 dengue-related deaths. It has so far reviewed 96 cases and confirmed that 57 of them were caused by dengue.
