At least 84 women were tortured to death for dowry in the first 11 months of the current calendar year across the country, according to a local legal aid and rights body.
Apart from this, the Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) report noted that 90 women were physically tortured from January to November 2020.
A total of 138 cases were filed in connection with the incidents, the data also revealed.
As many as 96 women were tortured to death in 2019 for dowry while the number was 85 in 2018, the ASK added.
