As many as 730 diarrhoea patients were hospitalised at icddr,b, an international health research institute in Dhaka, in 14 hours on Thursday.
AKM Tariful Islam Khan, media manager, icddr,b told the FE that at least 730 diarrhoea patients got admitted at icddr,b on Thursday till 2:00 pm.
There is huge pressure on the hospital for diarrhoea patients, he said, adding that physicians, nurses and health staff are struggling to cope with the stress of patients.
The hospital is providing treatment free of cost, he said.
As many as 1,233 such patients were hospitalised at the hospital on Wednesday in 24 hours, he added.
