Disaster Management and Relief Minister Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Bir Bikram, said on Wednesday 55180 more people have been brought under power connections at Motlab Uttar and Dakhhin upazilas in the district.
"We have built 521 kilometres new power lines at Matlab Uttar and Dakhhin upazilas for which 55180 people have got power connections," he said while inaugurating the construction of 20 kilometre power lines at Narayanpur under Matlab Dakhhin.
He said, "Around 1500 more people brought under power coverage with installing the 20 kilometre power lines."
BSS says the minister also expressed hope of bringing all the houses of Matlab under power coverage at the end of this year.
"The present government has made Bangladesh free from load-shading replacing the darkness due to having frequent load-shading during the tenure of BNP-Jamaat led alliance government," he also said.
"The country has witnessed massive development during the present government under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and requested the people to vote for the Awami League in the upcoming general elections to continue the development works."
